Project description:

The Project on National Communications of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region (EUSBSR) I & II aimed to strengthen awareness, understanding and stakeholder participation in the implementation of the Strategy in Finland. Implemented in cooperation with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, the projects developed national communication tools, expanded stakeholder networks and improved access to information on the EUSBSR, its governance and funding opportunities.

Objectives:

  • Increase national awareness and understanding of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region and its objectives.
  • Provide accessible and up-to-date information on the Strategy, its governance and funding opportunities.
  • Strengthen and expand the Finnish stakeholder network involved in implementing the EUSBSR.

Key actions & results:

  • Established a national website providing information on the EUSBSR, its governance, priorities, funding opportunities and activities.
  • Expanded the Finnish stakeholder network and organised meetings and information events across Finland.
  • Produced communication materials and practical guidance to support stakeholder engagement and participation in the Strategy.
