The role of Centrum Balticum in the project: Centrum Balticum Foundation was responsible for the communications of the project. Centrum Balticum also organised a discussion at SuomiAreena and a foresight workshop.

Funding: The project was funded by the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund and Centre of Economic Development, Transport and the Environment as a part of the Operational Program of Finland, European Maritime and Fisheries Fund in 2018.

Project description:

The Finnish Maritime Cluster (FMC) promotes collaboration, innovation and sustainability within Finland’s maritime sector. The initiative brings together key industry organisations and stakeholders to support digitalisation, green technologies and blue growth. Through networking, communication and knowledge sharing, FMC encourages cooperation within the maritime cluster and promotes the use of national and EU funding opportunities for developing sustainable maritime solutions.

Objectives:

  • Promote collaboration and networking within the Finnish maritime cluster and with international partners.
  • Support the development and uptake of sustainable and digital maritime technologies.
  • Increase awareness of funding opportunities and strengthen communication within the maritime sector.

Key actions & results:

  • Strengthened the visibility and communication of the Finnish Maritime Cluster through a communication strategy, logo, website and social media activities.
  • Organised events, networking activities and funding information sessions to connect stakeholders and promote innovation.
  • Fostered cooperation with Baltic Sea maritime organisations and initiatives supporting sustainable shipping and maritime innovation.
