We support cooperation and development in the Baltic Sea Region through communication, coordination and networks. Our work includes international projects, coordination of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region, and expert publications that promote dialogue and knowledge-sharing. We are a non-profit foundation that connects actors across borders and sectors.

Projects

We coordinate and participate in international projects across the Baltic Sea Region and Europe. Our experience in project cooperation and funding programmes ensures effective communication and strong visibility.

EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region

We support the implementation of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region by acting as the secretariat of the Strategy. Our work strengthens communication and networks across the Region.

Publications

We share policy-relevant knowledge on the Baltic Sea Region through our publications. Our publication series include Baltic Rim Economies, BSR Policy Briefings and Pulloposti column series.

Baltic Sea Region Forum 2026 was organised on 4 May at the Turku University with the theme Security in Northern Europe and the Arctic. Forum theme was covered in keynote speeches and three panel discussions:

  • Strategic Competition in the High North
  • Strategic Intelligence and the Region
  • Critical Natural Resources and Logistical Infrastructure

The Baltic Sea Region Forum brings together people interested in the development of the Baltic Sea area to discuss the events shaping our common future. The event provides a possibility for experts from different sectors to meet and share their knowledge. Centrum Balticum has organised the Baltic Sea Region Forum annually since 2008.
