Project description:

CSHIPP (Clean Shipping Project Platform) connected projects and organisations working on clean shipping in the Baltic Sea Region. The platform strengthened the impact of EU-funded initiatives by bringing together research results, promoting knowledge exchange and building a shared understanding of sustainable maritime transport. By facilitating dialogue between researchers, policymakers and industry stakeholders, the project helped translate research findings into practical knowledge supporting cleaner and more competitive shipping.

Objectives:

  • Increase the impact of clean shipping projects by connecting their results and expertise across the Baltic Sea Region.
  • Strengthen knowledge exchange and dialogue between research organisations, industry and policymakers.
  • Promote the development and uptake of clean technologies, alternative fuels and other solutions supporting sustainable maritime transport.

Key actions & results:

  • Synthesised results and best practices from several EU-funded projects to create a shared knowledge base on clean shipping.
  • Identified technologies, fuels and policy measures that can reduce emissions and improve energy efficiency in maritime transport.
  • Supported policy dialogue and regional cooperation by facilitating stakeholder discussions and producing recommendations for cleaner shipping.
