Symbioter project aims to strengthen the water resilience of Baltic Sea Region municipalities by building local water symbiosis and consolidating the results of nine EU-funded water projects into transferable, ready-to-use solutions. By connecting local public authorities, infrastructure and service providers and relevant interest groups, Symbioter aims to close the gap between research results and everyday water management, turning proven pilot solutions into practices that municipalities can adopt and scale.
Centrum Balticum will take care of the project communication.
The project works towards:
- Consolidating results, tools and lessons learned from nine EU-funded water projects into a single, accessible knowledge base.
- Building local water micro-symbiosis, connecting municipalities, utilities and industries so that one actor’s water or nutrient stream becomes another’s resource.
- Transferring and scaling proven solutions for water resilience to municipalities across the Baltic Sea Region.
- Running policy dialogue sessions that connect local experience with regional and EU-level water policy.
- Producing a project film, a living project website and a coordinated LinkedIn campaign as reusable communication assets.
- Engaging strategic alliances — PA Nutri, the Baltic Smart Water Hub, HELCOM, EurEau, Race for the Baltic and the Union of the Baltic Cities — to widen the project’s reach and impact.
