BSR Policy Briefing 4/2017 provides a comprehensive outlook on the national innovation and smart specialisation governance in the Baltic Sea region. The publication serves as a concise guide for anyone interested in finding out the existing smart specialisation and innovation governance frameworks and their supporting implementation structures in a number of BSR countries. Likewise, the briefing summarises the common thematic strands of research, innovation and smart specialisation priorities defined on the national and regional level across the BSR.

BSR Policy Briefing 4/2017 is edited by Zane Sime, Communication and Research Coordinator of the Council of the Baltic Sea States Secretariat. Eight national experts on innovation and smart specialisation governance have contributed to the Briefing.
