Open vacancy: Communication Officer

Centrum Balticum is an independent foundation located in Turku, Finland. The mission of Centrum Balticum is to support the coherence, competitiveness, and sustainable development of the Baltic Sea Region (BSR). An important part of that work is participation in various international EU funded projects.  We are now strengthening our team and aim to recruit a communication officer to work with project communication. 

Description of the tasks

Centrum Balticum takes care of the communication management in ReNutriWater and CiNURGI projects, both funded by the Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme. ReNutriWater concentrates on finding methods how municipalities could recirculate water in a safe and economically efficient way. ReNutriWater has 13 project partners representing 5 BSR countries.  CiNURGi encourages the creation and development of safe and sustainable recycling of nutrients in the BSR. CiNURGi has 25 project partners coming from all BSR riparian countries. 

As a communication officer, you would be working closely with the project and communication advisor and would share your time equally between the projects.

The main tasks include:
  • Gathering, editing and disseminating information about project process and results
  • Maintaining project communication channels (newsletters, websites and social media)
  • Supporting project partners in matters related to communication
  • Organizing project related events
Skills and requirements

  • Degree or advanced studies in communication at the university or secondary education level
  • Very good communication and digital communication skills
  • Very good written and spoken English
  • The ability to work both independently and in a team
  • Experience in international cooperation, environmental protection and/or circular economy are seen as a plus.

Details

Work begins in January 2024. Due to the projects’ lifespan, we offer fixed term employment until 31.12.2025.
